Media File Bit Rate (MBps)

Bit Rate is the amount of streamed video and audio data sent over a period of time.

Internet Speeds (Mbps)

Download speeds are normally much faster than the upload speeds.
The Upload Speed will determine if the connection is good enough to stream the file.

MB to mbps Conversion

  • Megabyte (MB) is how stored data is measured. MB is used to show the size of a file.

  • Megabit (Mb) is how the transfer of data is measured. It can be used for network transfer rates.

 

STEP #3: Check the needed Internet Upload/Download speed to stream a specific bit rate.

EXAMPLE:

A video file with a 10 MBps bit rate would require at least 80 mbps Internet upload speed for successful media streaming to a remote location.
