Steps to Install and Use ArmorLock App

ArmorLock drives can be unlocked with the Mobile or Desktop App.

Mobile App

  1. Download the App.


  2. Open the ArmorLock App.
    The End User License Agreement (EULA) window will open.

  3. Scroll down to read the full agreement.
    Select Accept.

  4. Swipe or select Next through intro pages.
    Select Done.

  5. Enter a User Name for the phone.
    Select Save.

  6. The App will request permission to send notifications.
    Select Allow.
    Select Allow again to proceed.

  7. Notifications are important and will prompt when new actions are required.
    Example: New User requests access to a drive.

    ArmorLock is now ready to add a drive.

ArmorLock Mobile App Overview

  1. Main Menu
    The three-dot menu allows:
    • Share User ID
      New User requesting access to a drive can:
      Send the phone’s User ID to a Manager with the drive in a different location.
      Show the phone’s User ID QR Code to be scanned by a Manager locally.
    • Scan User ID
      A drive Manager can scan another phone’s User ID to add it to the User List.
    • Share ArmorLock App
      Share the ArmorLock App with other Users.
      Important for authorizing remote users before shipping the drive.
    • Add or Remove drives.
    • View Introduction.
    • Open About.

  2. Toggle icon
    The toggle icon is for switching between Card and List view.

  3. Drive Card
    The current drive status.
    Swipe left to add a new drive.

  4. Drive Card Gear Icon
    Manage drive settings per drive.


Desktop App

The Desktop App is used to unlock and manage the drive on macOS.
It uses Short Codes instead of scanning the QR code.
Adding a drive requires entering its unique Short Code next to the QR code.

  1. Download the App.

ArmorLock Desktop App Overview

  1. List View
    This is where added drives are located.
    • The + and - buttons are for adding and removing drives.
    • Drive information is on the Card View.
      Click the Lock icon to unlock or lock the drive.

  2. Drive Card View
    A lock icon and drive information will show when clicking a drive.

    • Lock: Unlock the drive.
    • Unlock: Lock and eject the drive.
    • I: Click to display default view (drive name, model, serial number, capacity, firmware, and open source licenses).
    • Gear: Edit the drive settings.
    • Map pin: Show the last recorded location of the drive.
    • Erase: Securely erase and reformat the drive.
    • (Manager role only) ID icon: List of authorized devices and edit each role.
    • (Manager role only) Key icon: Generate a new Recovery Key and replace the existing one.

  3. Main Menu
    This can be accessed at the top of the window.

ArmorLock

  • About ArmorLock: View the ArmorLock version and license agreement.
  • Preferences: Set the ArmorLock Username and select to automatically start ArmorLock at Login.
  • Services: Services Preferences for the operating system.

Drive

  • Add Drive: Add an ArmorLock drive to the app.
  • Remove Drive: Remove an ArmorLock drive from the app.

Share

  • Share User ID: Send User ID to request access to another ArmorLock drive.
